And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

Law and Order

It is now legal for illegal immigrants to practice law in California.

California Democratic Governor Jerry Brown signed several new immigration laws Saturday.

Reuters says, this one could set a precedent for the nation.

The new law grew out of a case of an undocumented immigrant brought to the U.S. as a baby and who later graduated from a California law school.

Opponents of the man's bid to gain admission to the California bar included the U.S. Justice Department.

Global Warning

Musician-turned-activist Sir Bob Geldof believes the world could end by 2030, because of the effects of climate change.

Media reports say Geldof told a group of young people at a summit in South Africa that the world can decide in a fit of madness to kill itself.

Geldof warns, the next war won't be like WWI or WWII it will be the end.

Geldof was nominated for a Nobel Prize for the Live Aid concert back in 1985 to fight famine in Africa and several subsequent charity efforts.

Catch Me if You Can

Finally, a 9-year-old boy was able to get past security and onto a plane in Minneapolis bound for Las Vegas by himself, without a ticket.

Video from the day before his trip shows him already at the airport, stealing a bag, and having lunch without paying for it.

Mid-flight, the crew became suspicious and contacted Las Vegas police.

But how did this all happen?

A TSA spokesperson told a local TV station, that staffing is low due to the government shutdown.

The TSA later clarified that the child was screened with all other passengers to ensure he was not a threat to the aircraft.

A Las Vegas police spokesman says the boy is -- quote -- "more worldly than most 9-year-old kids."

And when Minneapolis police went to the boy's residence, parents told officers they -- quote -- "hadn't seen much of him today."
