Does the Democrats' 'Green New Deal' weaponize climate change?
'Green New Deal' could dramatically change Americans' way of life; Competitive Enterprise Institute senior fellow Christopher Horner and WeatherBell.com chief meteorologist Joe Bastardi weigh in.
This is a rush transcript from "Hannity," February 7, 2019. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.
SEAN HANNITY, HOST: All right. Busy news night. Welcome to “Hannity.”
No shortage of embarrassment in the Democratic Party tonight from the political dumpster fire in Virginia. Elizabeth Warren's ongoing race- faking scandal. Adam Schiff's disgusting conflicts of interest that we will break tonight. And we're going to cover it all.
We begin tonight on our “Hannity” watch, the rise of socialism featuring freshman Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Now, while some of you may be quick to think, oh, this is ridiculous, this couldn't happen in the United States of America, well, history is riddled with the road kill and the misery of many versions of socialism almost always ending the same way -- false promises, broken promises, failure, poverty, misery among the people.
This is a real serious threat to our way of life. It doesn't matter Republican or Democrat.
So, today, Ocasio-Cortez rolled out what is a horrific frightening piece of legislation. She's calling it the green New Deal, how everything we've been saying about the new radical Democratic Party, what they were hiding in 2018, now it's all in writing and it might be even worse than we thought, because just hours ago, Ocasio-Cortez and others put forth one of the most dangerous, impractical, misguided, economically guaranteed to be devastating plans ever championed by any American politician. A plan, if it's ever implemented, guaranteed to fail and the result will be disastrous for the American people.
But, she and others couldn't be more proud. Take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
REP. ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ, D-N.Y.: This is so incredible. This is such a major watershed moment and I'm so incredibly excited that we are going to transition this country into the future and we are not going to be dragged behind by our past. We should do it because that is what this nation is about. We should do it because we're a country founded on ideals, of a culture that is innovative that cares for our brothers and sisters across this country.
I think it is a green dream and I think that it is. And I don't think that -- you know, I don't consider that to be dismissive term. I think it's a great term.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: All right. Before we get into this, I promise you might be thinking this is fake news. It is not. This is a real proposal, real ideas from real lawmakers and the new radical extreme Democratic Socialist Party of America beyond dangerous and beyond scary. Now, in a six page overview released by her office today, well, Ocasio-Cortez is now calling pay close attention. For the United States of America to move to 100 percent clean and renewable energy in 10 years, in other words, she wants the government to them eliminate all fossil fuels, all of them in ten years, which by the way, that energy is the lifeblood and the engine of all economic success.
She wants the government to radically alter the way you heat your home, the way you commute to work, what you cook, how you cook, how you eat, and live your life. In doing so, well, the Socialist Democrats, they plan to nationalize and literally illuminate, you know, in many ways the most profitable industry in America, the fossil fuel industry. Millions of American jobs were be wiped out if we were able to follow this plan -- the industry that has led the technology and technological advances, the lifeblood of our economy and why do we have the highest standard of living that we have today that is the envy of the world.
And it gets worse according to a study from Stanford. This plan at a minimum is going to cost $13.4 trillion. In just a reference in 2015, the entire federal budget was just $3.5 trillion.
Now, sadly, it's even a lot more to report. The so-called "Green New Deal" proposes the elimination of air travel -- all air travel -- and the creation of more high-speed trains.
So, forget about jetting around the world in mere hours and enjoying your train ride to Europe, Japan, Australia, good luck with that train. I can't wait for her to explain how those trains are going to be built, kind of like all aboard, the poverty express is coming.
And this gets even more bizarre. Her plan also wants to take on the problem of cow flatulence by potentially putting an end to red meat consumption. Why? Because cows create CO2. No more stake. I guess government forced veganism is in order.
And also the green new deal would redo literally every single building in America. I'm not kidding. Legislation the government would upgrade or replace every building in the U.S. for state-of-the-art energy efficiency. Well over 100 residential homes we rebuild every home in the country, every business in the country in ten years.
By the way, how is everybody going to pay for all of this? And beyond that, remember, deep down, this plan is really just the socialist wish checklist. It's what they've always believed that now they're getting more vocal about. That's why in this utopian horror, it grants every single person, these are the promises she's making, it guarantees that everyone will have income including those that are unable, OK, to work, even unwilling to work. Nobody has to work.
The government handouts, they don't stop there. They want free health care, free education, free housing, free retirement, it's all in there. Free, free, free.
It's a great bumper sticker and a great slogan. Wait until the bill comes in.
What the government gives, the government taketh away. What made America a great prosperous nation, it was built on liberty and freedom, the pursuit of happiness and capitalism. Goods and services that people want, need, and desire being provided by other people.
I didn't grow up with a lot of money in my life. I have very modest background. My parents worked very hard. My grandparents, all four of them were poor.
My mom a prison guard, my dad data corrections officer, they have modest 50x100 lot home, one bathroom, three older sisters. Kind of tough for a younger brother.
And for a good portion of my early adult life, I did struggle to make a living. I was a painting contractor, hang wall paper, lay tile, did all sorts of jobs in construction, every conceivable restaurant job almost 20 years of my life.
I worked odd jobs, lived in a small apartment. I even bought a 1971 Ford Maverick very running for 350 bucks. I've bought an old providence company work van for $200 the best I have ever spent.
I was never guaranteed income. Didn't have health care when I fell nearly three stories offer roof, and thank God I learn something. The value of hard work, digging deep, taking risks, like all of you do in your everyday life.
The U.S. has lifted more people out of poverty, our capitalist system that than any other system in the history of the world. If we have learned anything from all of these socialist countries and experiments, when government squashes human initiative, the system to send into chaos. Maybe on paper it sounds great, everything is free, you are safe and secure.
Well, how are those schools doing now that they want to add free college on top of everything I mentioned? How did Obamacare and those promises work out? Did you keep your doctor, your petplan? Are you paying less?
How many of you have less than one option, only have one option? Do you what? Do you really trust Sanders? Medicare for all, $33 trillion.
Kamala Harris, her plan to get rid of private insurance for 177 million Americans. Elizabeth Warren's plan, after you've already paid taxes, and maybe you save 35, to 40 cents on the dollar. She wants to come back and say, give me more, which would be illegal and unconstitutional. That would -- literally, we would be giving a license to steal. They would be creating a law to rob you blind.
Do you want the government in every aspect of your life? Socialism always promises everything. It takes all your fears away, every one of them.
The problem is, tell me where it's working. Give me a great example. Venezuela? The former Soviet Union, Cuba? This is a false security based on false promises that are absolutely impossible to keep and will literally destroy the country.
Still this new extreme radical socialist Democratic Party, they want to upend everything. They want to sacrifice your well-being, eliminating great paying jobs that are now in the pipeline thanks to Donald Trump and the energy sector.
We have two pipelines online, Keystone, Dakota Pipeline and ANWR will get more oil. You know, now we have surpassed literally the Saudis and Russia as the number one producer of energy in the world. Now, we are an exporter of energy. Great also for national security, we're not begging countries that hate us for more.
You know what? We'll get rid of the literally energy sector, the airline sector, the healthcare sector, why? So the government can take over these industries?
And, of course, no answers about how to pay for it. Her answer was just, we will print more money. We'll just take money.
And this comes as we are so energy independent, these are going to be high- paying jobs, not relying on foreign oil where truck drivers remember in North Dakota were making over 100 grand a year and they were getting trained to do the job.
But Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, Democratic socialist, they claim that the world was going to end in 12 years because of climate change, which is, of course, is not true. Now, green energy, this new deal, will destroy America, our economy as we know it. It will turn back the clock. It will take us back to another century.
But like all good socialists, they claim it's going to be great. But you know better. Now, sadly, this is what most Democrats don't understand, socialists don't understand. But don't be fooled, we have to take this seriously.
This is what many in the Democratic Socialist Party want. This will be their major theme as they the nomination in 2020. That and open borders.
Ocasio-Cortez, when she's pushing this radical government takeover of the entire economy, oh, she was bashing ICE again today. Take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
OCASIO-CORTEZ: I don't think so. Not only will we not agree to fund that, but we're here to say that an agency like ICE, which repeatedly and systematically violates human rights, does not deserve a dime.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: You know what? Remember before the election, we kept telling you, they are hiding it, endless investigation. Their real agenda is they want their crumbs back, they want higher taxes and if you're Democratic leader in the state of Virginia, oh, now, you can even have abortion off to the last second.
Then, of course, the whole blackface issue which is come up. Governor Northam and also the attorney general, Mark Herring, both facing calls to resign after admittedly dressing up in blackface, one with the Ku Klux Klan outfit. That picture that we saw.
And as of tonight, no Democrat in the commonwealth of Virginia plans to resign.
We sent our own Lawrence Jones to Richmond, Virginia, earlier today to see how locals are reacting. Let's take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LAWRENCE JONES, CONTRIBUTOR: I'm sure you've heard about the controversy with the blackface of state officials, how do you feel about it?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It's awful to hear about.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I really don't like to say I'm from Virginia when things like that happened.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You've got to own it and you need to step down.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I don't think I'm in the place really to say if someone should resign or not over one picture.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: We have the entire package coming up later in the show. But tonight, we notice the sanctimonious Hollywood elites. They're kind of silent lately, unusual move for a group of people that love to spread their holier-than-thou views on pretty much literally everything.
Now, perhaps, many of Hollywood's most famous people want you to forget about their own rampant use of blackface, including the ever-so-self- righteous, late night so-called comedian, Jimmy Kimmel. You might remember this moment.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JIMMY KIMMEL, "THE MAN SHOW", COMEDY CENTRAL: Hello, everybody, out there in TV town. This is Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz, here to tell you about Karl Malone home state, Louisiana.
Sometime at night, Karl Malone look up at the sky and say, what the hell going on up there? Did UFO live on other planet, folding hole like ET? Karl Malone read on TV about white people getting deducted by aliens. Now, Karl Malone never saw no flying saucer himself. But if you do, that's going to be a spooky time.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: Not to be undone, over at "The View", Joyless Behar actually bragging about her use of blackface on the ABC show "The View" in 2016.
Let's take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOY BEHAR, THE VIEW: It was a Halloween party. I went as a beautiful African woman. But that's my hair, that's my hair.
(CROSSTALK)
BEHAR: That is me.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Did you have tanning lotion on, though?
BEHAR: I had make up that was a little darker than my skin.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: Over the years, hundreds of celebrities utilized blackface in one way or another. NBC's Jimmy Fallon, in 2000, Sarah Silverman who dressed up in blackface on Comedy Central. Ted Danson, he did it as well during a roast to Whoopi Goldberg. Now, this is just the latest sad disturbing example of the hypocrisy of the left, because every two years, every four years, Republicans are racist, sexist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, you know my list.
But tonight, their action speaks so much louder than their words. Now, by the way, which brings us to the third Virginia Democrat embroiled in a serious scandal. That's the lieutenant governor, Justin Fairfax.
He's currently facing a serious allegation of violent sexual assault. His accuser released a detailed statement claiming that Fairfax physically forced her to perform oral sex on him in a hotel room at the 2004 Democratic convention in Boston. Last year, she reportedly confided in Virginia Democratic Congressman Bobby Scott about the incident. He did nothing. So much for #metoo.
And last year, she also reported a story to "The Washington Post". They did nothing because they called it a he said/she said matter. Of course, "The Post" was more than happy to obsess about the he said/she said in the Kavanaugh case just a few months ago.
Remember during the Kavanaugh confirmation? Nearly everyone on the left, they rushed to judgment, rushed to support the accusers. No matter how unverified, unsubstantiated the claims, "I believe" was the phrase of the day. Democrats threw due process, and the presumption of innocence to the wind, flushing the U.S. Constitution down the toilet, trying to ruin a man's life and his family's life over uncorroborated claims.
Now, Democrats now that it's a Democrat, they sound remarkably different, virtually nobody has said "I believe" when it comes to Lieutenant Governor Fairfax's accuser, many avoiding the subject completely. They are hiding from the press and others calling for an investigation before making a determination.
Look, I am never not going to be the PC police here, we don't rush to judgment on the show. We don't call for firings on the show. We don't support boycotts to silence people on the show.
That's up to people. They decide to watch whatever show they like. And unlike the left, we are consistent. Serious allegations deserved serious investigations like the Republicans gave Professor Ford -- due process , presumption of innocence. If all three top elected Democratic officials are forced to resign though in the Commonwealth of Virginia, again, the Republican speaker of the house of delegates would be the next governor.
I wouldn't hold your breath thinking those three leading Democrats in Virginia are going anywhere. It's all about power not about principle. Not about people. Again, they'll use anything to bludgeon Kavanaugh or Trump, but when it's them, they just go -- let's not talk about it anymore. We'll keep you posted as the story develops.
First, we're covering another embarrassing scandal for the Democrats. Look at presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren is in hot water yet again after her Texas state bar registration was unearthed and it showed that she registered as an American Indian.
Yesterday, she did her best to dodge questions once again about what is now a long history even though she once denied it of race-faking. Take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEN. ELIZABETH WARREN, D-MASS.: I am not a tribal citizen. I had a good conversation last week with Chief Baker who is chief of the Cherokee Tribes, and I told Chief Baker that I am sorry, that I extended confusion about tribal citizenship and tribal sovereignty and for harm caused. I am also sorry for not being mindful of this decades ago.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: All right. We'll continue to monitor that story, which won't go away, because she didn't tell the truth in the beginning.
All right. First, our “Hannity” watch tonight on the deep state. This is very important. Major breaking news surrounding Adam Shifty Schiff.
Remember the guy they got caught on tape colluding with Russia? Remember that guy? Listen to this.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
CALLER: She met with Trump and she brought him one of Russian girl celebrities, Olga Buzova, who's also known as person who has strange reputation.
REP. ADAM SCHIFF, D-CALIF.: Olga, and how do you spell her name?
CALLER: Olga Buzova.
SCHIFF: And what's the nature of the Kompromat?
CALLER: Well, there were pictures of naked Trump.
SCHIFF: And so, Putin was made aware of the availability of the comprising material?
CALLER: Yes, of course.
SCHIFF: Thank you very much. We will be back in touch with you with the staff to make arrangements to obtain these materials for our committee and for the FBI. And I appreciate you reaching out to us.
(END AUDIO CLIP)
HANNITY: The guy that's leading the investigation into Trump and Russia collusion caught on tape colluding with Russia to get dirt on Trump. Turned out to be a hoax and he got caught right in the middle of it.
Also breaking tonight, new from John Solomon. The newly crowned House Intel Committee chair was pictured, Adam Shifty Schiff, with the founder of Fusion GPS, Glenn Simpson, in beautiful Aspen, Colorado, at a security conference last July. You can't make this up.
Simpson and Fusion GPS responsible for Hillary's bought and paid for dossier. They're the ones that hired Christopher Steele. In fact, at the time of the photo, since it was a witness, before Schiff's committee, the House Intelligence Committee, on a probe on Russia and Russian collusion.
So, what was the top Democrat on the House Intel Committee doing socializing with one of the committee's most controversial witnesses? This comes as the Senate Intelligence Committee chairman today, pay attention, he announced that their bipartisan investigation had uncovered no evidence of Trump and Russia collusion. None.
We'll have more later in the show. John will join us, as well as Gregg Jarrett.
Joining us now, Fox News contributors Jessica Tarlov and Dan Bongino.
All right, let me go through the list. We're going to eliminate airplanes in ten years. We're going to try. Cows are gone. But we're going to give everybody a guaranteed job, guaranteed wage, family medical leave, oh, guaranteed vacations, guaranteed retirement.
Now, were going to pay for college education or trade school, whichever you choose. Were going to guarantee healthy food, were going to guarantee safe, adequate housing. We're going to guarantee economic security whether you're willing, unable or unwilling to work, Jessica, what part of that you agree with?
All of it?
JESSICA TARLOV, CONTRIBUTOR: No, not all of it. But this is a six-page proposal that's a framework for having a conversation. Senator Markey would not have attached his name to this.
HANNITY: Hang on. Tell the audience what part is not going to be free?
TARLOV: Not a lot of stuff is free. This is not how this works.
HANNITY: OK. Let's start. Tell us what part should be free and guaranteed, whether -- even if you are unwilling to work.
TARLOV: The unwilling to work part is obviously problematic. We don't want that. If you're unable to work, society should help you out.
I'm willing to work is not acceptable. I don't know where that came --
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: Healthcare, jobs, housing, everything else is free. You OK with that?
TARLOV: No, I'm not OK with that, and that's not how this would bear out. What this proposal is about is two main focuses, on justice and investment. What Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is trying to make clear is that ordinary people in this country matter. That is something that has been neglected for decades by politicians.
And she also wants to make sure the public investment is not the bugaboo that it has been also for the past few decades.
HANNITY: Oh, OK.
TARLOV: Oh, OK? You accept?
HANNITY: You know, this is great, when asked how you're going to pay for it although no airplanes, Dan Bongino, and the high-speed trains to Australia, I can't wait to see that built.
DAN BONGINO, CONTRIBUTOR: Yes, I always appreciate a good debate with my friend, Jessica, but I'd like to get Jessica on the record specifically as to what you support, because, Sean, let's play out some facts. Just, if you'd like to say yay or nay, I would appreciate it.
On the rebuilding front, Sean, that would include rebuilding 30,000 buildings a day for the next ten years in America. On the energy front, we would need enough landmass, Sean, to build enough windmills and photovoltaic cells to take up the entire states of California and Texas. So, I'd like to get Jess on the record on that.
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: Dan, how they have rebuild the Freedom Tower that quick?
TARLOV: Come on, guys.
BONGINO: How do you get all the permits? Wait, one more thing, Jess, do you support the 90 percent national sales tax? The 54 percent payroll tax or the doubling of every income tax in the country it would pay to even start some of these programs? Serious question.
TARLOV: No, I don't support that egregious jump in taxation. I do support having a conversation about for 70 percent on marginal rate on people who earn $10 million or above.
HANNITY: What part do you support? Tell us what you like and what you think we should have.
BONGINO: That raises $200 billion a year.
TARLOV: I support the spirit of what is in the pages.
HANNITY: Spirit? I have a wonderful spirit.
TARLOV: Listen, you guys were perfectly fine with Donald Trump getting up there during the campaign in waxing lyrical about, oh, you're going to have great healthcare.
(CROSSTALK)
TARLOV: Obamacare will be gone. But no one will be left behind.
BONGINO: No, no, Jess, I'm asking you Jess, with all due respect, I'm asking you a simple question. You just said that the 70 percent tax, OK, fine. That would raise --
TARLOV: On marginal, over $10 million.
BONGINO: Timeout. $200 billion year, how are you going to pay for the $4 trillion a year these programs require?
HANNITY: All right. I've got to go.
Directly ahead, exclusive report. Lawrence Jones on the collapse of the Democratic Party, especially in Virginia.
Also, we have new information, the corruption and the Russia investigation. You won't believe what Adam Schiff was caught doing. And he's looking into Russia Trump collusion.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HANNITY: All right. Amid the multiple scandals currently roiling Virginia politics in the Democratic Party in general, we send our own Lawrence Jones, special HANNITY correspondent, to see how the people of Virginia are feeling about the controversy. Let's take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JONES: I'm sure you've heard about the controversy of blackface in the state official. How do you feel about it?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It's awful to hear about. And I think there are consequences to people's actions.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I really don't like to say I'm from Virginia when things like that happened.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Being in the state, being in the city, it's definitely uncomfortable for me to hear.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Maybe this is kind of a whole other version of #metoo.
JONES: Do you think all these officials should resign?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes. I think they're going to have to think really hard about their actions.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think it would be best for them to do so.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You've got to own it and you need to step down.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I don't think I'm in a place really to say if someone should resign or not over one picture.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Whether or not Northam can prove he was or wasn't in the photo I think is besides the point.
JONES: You think it's a little bit different with the governor since when he ran from office, he went after his opponent who's a Republican for being racist and now, he's in his own little scandal with the blackface. Isn't that like a little bit of hypocrisy right there?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I would say confusing would be the word that comes to mind.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think he's loaded with hypocrisy.
JONES: The lieutenant governor has been accused of sexual assault. How do you feel about that?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Not cool.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I think more facts need to arise and investigation, because there's always two sides to the story.
JONES: Should there be due process or should he resign?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Due process.
JONES: How does all of this - both scandals make you feel living in Virginia?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Pretty upset, I feel pretty let down. I was at the convention with - when Obama was vouching for all these people and I can't imagine how he feels right now.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: Right. Here with reaction are Fox News Contributors, Lawrence Jones, Special Hannity Correspondent and Tammy Bruce is with us. Tammy, you were amazing - your commentary, your passion during the whole Kavanaugh hearings was - you really were on target.
You know what words I haven't heard yet as it relates to the Lieutenant Governor scandal from very prominent people that were so quick to rush to judgment, I'm not hearing anyone say, "I Believe".
TAMMY BRUCE, CONTRIBUTOR, INDEPENDENT WOMEN'S VOICE PRESIDENT: Yes. And, look, this is absolutely predictable. And this is what destroys the issue for all of us who cared about it. Who care about every woman who is genuinely sexually assaulted, has a horrible experience at work, wants the justice system to work for her, wants to be heard, wants to be taken seriously and that was our conversation during Kavanaugh. What wasn't it Sean? That attack on Brett Kavanaugh set this essay.
HANNITY: Bludgeoning.
BRUCE: It was a political weapon. It was a serious issue weaponized. And yet it - we knew it was also going to destroy the credibility of the nature of the issue itself we fought for so long. And now we have a woman - and look, my argument that entire time was to take women seriously.
But you don't just automatically believe everyone in accuser. That's what due process is for, and that's what women have asked for. And now, this woman in this case, is being looked at. And the Democrats for some reason are treating her as though she can't be believed.
So the American people are looking at this and they're seeing the double standard. And they're thinking then, that the issue doesn't really matter. The issue is a political one. You can't trust what women are saying about men or about politicians, and this is courtesy of the Democrat Party.
It is courtesy of a party that says they're the champions for women and within a few short months they have burnt it to the ground. And women have to realize that whenever one party says to you, we're going to save your lives, you can only trust us, watch out, watch your back, because they're going to weaponize the thing.
HANNITY: Let me ask Lawrence this, because you were right. If they really cared about the issue, Lawrence, I think, they'd be saying, "I believe". They're not saying that. Just like in the hell - just like on the border debate. They once supported a border wall. They said they cared about Dreamers. That they cared about DACA, that they cared about furloughed employees. But they wouldn't even talk to the President.
And the same thing - I would imagine the controversy if it was Republicans and blackface - I would imagine their reaction would be very different on that one too.
LAWRENCE JONES, CONTRIBUTOR, CAMPUS REFORM EDITOR-IN-CHIEF: That's exactly right, Sean. And the guy this - he probably can't sleep in his mansion behind me. The Governor played a lot of politics. Made a lot of accusations in his last race about the Republican opponent.
Meanwhile, this guy is in blackface. And this is what the Democratic Party does. They play these race games. Deep down there's a lot of Dixiecrats out there that are cold blooded racists. But they play these games.
And I'd like to say this, Sean. I don't want these guys to resign. Stay there, because we know that you guys are going to play the same game in 2020, and now we have proof that the Democrats aren't calling for these guys to resign. They're not calling from them to resign. They want them to stay there.
HANNITY: In the Obama years, the people - when I always say 13 million more Americans on food stamps, 8 million more in poverty. The people that were most disproportionately impacted, African-Americans, Hispanic Americans and women. The people that are benefiting--
JONES: That's right.
BRUCE: Right.
HANNITY: --the most on the - of the conservative policies of Donald Trump, look at the record low unemployment, those same three demographics and Asian Americans and youth unemployment.
BRUCE: Sean, can I add one thing here?
HANNITY: Yes.
BRUCE: For the women out there watching this and watching all of this unfold, they have to realize that they've been lied to by the Democratic Party, and that is they listen now to other arguments moving into these next two years, when it comes to the quality of their lives improving.
That to take a step back and to relook at what it is they've been told to think about, the President and about what's happening in the country, and what's in their best interest. In their best interest right now is to operate as independents and is to listen with some cynicism and suspicion to what Democrats tell them.
HANNITY: All right, we're running out of time. Last word Lawrence, we only have about 15 seconds.
JONES: And the Republic - and the - yes, and the Republicans can no longer be afraid. They got to go into different communities and sell our agenda, because--
BRUCE: Exactly.
JONES: How do we loose of these guys?
BRUCE: Bravo.
JONES: How do we lose to these guys? These guys wearing blackface?
HANNITY: I'm a conservative. I believe god created every man, woman and child. And when you live in freedom, we can create a standard of living second to none, and God-given talent comes out of every human. That's simple.
All right, guys, good. Thank you both. When we come back a bombshell report exposing Congressman Adam Schiff, has to do with something important, straight ahead.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HANNITY: All right. We have another explosive report from The Hill's John Solomon detailing an encounter between House Intel Committee Chairman that would be Adam Shifty Schiff, one of the biggest liars in Congress and Fusion GPS, Founder Glenn Simpson. They met in beautiful Aspen, Colorado as our "Hannity Watch" on the Deep State begins tonight.
And remember, Fusion GPS was the firm that hired Christopher Steele, put together the phony dossier paid for by Clinton with Russian lies. That the FBI never verified or corroborated to spy on Trump campaign associate, Carter Page, which fueled the fake collusion narrative that Senate Intel Chair, Richard Burr today - pay attention, that's the Senate Intel Committee, zero evidence for.
Joining us with reaction, John Solomon of The Hill, author of "The Russian Hoax"; Fox News Legal Analyst, Gregg Jarrett. All right, let's go slowly here, John. Last night you detailed how Robert Mueller, when he was the FBI Director, was brought before the FISA Judges--
JOHN SOLOMON, THE HILL EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, THE HILL INVESTIGATIVE COLUMNIST: That's right.
HANNITY: --and excoriated for the FBI's behavior in some 75 cases of withholding exculpatory evidence. OK. We know that they withheld. That they never told the FISA Court Hillary paid for this. They never verified it, they never corroborated it, and they were warned in August by Bruce Ohr all of them, correct? And Andrew Weissmann, the "Pit Bull", knew about all this, because he was briefed by Ohr also?
SOLOMON: That's right, yes.
HANNITY: What's new about Schiff?
SOLOMON: Well, Adam Schiff has been the biggest champion in Congress for the dossier - right for two years until just recently when he raised the possibility that they might move on from Russia to some other things, right?
But, let's remember - let's take everybody back to the spring of 2017. Devin Nunes then House Intelligence Committee Chairman goes to the White House, exercises his oversight responsibility, tries to find about some unmasking abuses and Adam Schiff goes banana. "This is an abuse. He didn't tell the Committee. He can't be trusted. This taints our whole investigation", right? Remember that?
And Devin Nunes stepped aside for a while, had to undergo an ethics investigation, was cleared. Well let's fast forward to this summer. Adam Schiff is at The Aspen Institute. Who's he meeting with? The author of the dossier, and he is there talking with Glenn Simpson. And this is at a time when Schiff's Committee and Nunes' Committee knows it's highly possible that there's been lies in his testimony.
He has a meeting. He doesn't tell anybody in the Committee. It isn't until I find this photo in the last couple days showing them together, that we now learn that they had this meeting. And my favorite line in this is, when asked what this meeting was about, Glenn Simpson said, "Oh, it was just a small talk meeting. I considered what Ernie and Bert do on Sesame Street, small talk.
I don't think the author of the dossier and the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee can be engaged in small talk. It's a very significant event.
HANNITY: Gregg Jarrett, you go back and we've learned that Mueller - we have William Campbell. We had an FBI undercover agent in Putin's network in America on the Uranium One scandal, chronicling back bribery, extortion, kickbacks, money laundering. OK.
GREGG JARRETT, LEGAL ANALYST, "THE RUSSIA HOAX" AUTHOR: That's true.
HANNITY: Everybody was warned, including Robert Mueller's "Pit Bull" that this was not verified. They still committed a fraud before the FISA Court four times, Rod Rosenstein signing the last one.
JARRETT: Right.
HANNITY: And I'm looking at this and now that we know that Robert Mueller was excoriated for withholding exculpatory evidence for the FBI in 75 cases and they did it in this case. When is anybody going to be held accountable for all this these Russian lies that they know Hillary paid for from day one, but yet they went with an investigation on Trump?
JARRETT: Well, maybe next week when William Barr is approved and sworn in as the next Attorney General. He's vowed to get to the bottom of this. But today's big story, as you mentioned it, in your monologue, Sean is. Senator Burr who said we have - we don't have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia.
Now that's incredibly important, because not only did his Committee interview more than 200 witnesses and examined more than 300,000 pages of documents. But his, Committee, unlike Robert Mueller, has direct access to intelligence information that's classified. So Burr's forthcoming report saying there's no evidence of collusion--
HANNITY: He wouldn't say if we knew--
JARRETT: --is far more reliable than anything Robert Mueller will come up with.
HANNITY: He's seen it all. Now, I'm thinking about. We just played at the beginning of the show, John - Adam Schiff, we'll you write about and expose today meeting - what a conflict of interest. Now they can deny all they want. "Well, we just happened to meet. We never talked about anything seriously".
I don't believe anything that comes out of Adam Schiff's mouth. I think he's a liar and he's been lying the whole time about all this for political gain. Adam Schiff is on tape talking to a person he believes to be a Russian to dig dirt on Donald Trump. How does he dare get to investigate anybody about Russian collusion, when he's on tape doing it?
SOLOMON: It's a great question. And if he applies the same standard to himself that he applied to Devin Nunes two years ago, he should step aside. He should subject himself to an ethics investigation. But tonight, after all these allegations out, after everybody has seen the photos, there's crickets from Republicans and there's crickets from Democrats, that's the problem in Washington.
People aren't willing to stand up anymore and demand accountability, and that's what has to happen. And I agree with Gregg that the next opportunity is Bill Barr in a week.
HANNITY: I hope the President picked the right guy. I don't know Bill Barr. But if we have a FBI spy in the Uranium One deal and they're - we know they're involved in crimes, and we do nothing, and then Hillary gets all this money to the Clinton Foundation, Hillary bought and paid for Russian dossier, lies, everybody's warned about it, becomes the bulk of information for FISA. When Gregg - when is their accountability?
JARRETT: Well, as I say, Bill Barr can not only launch an investigation into Comey's corruption at the FBI and all of his acolytes. But he can take a serious examination of criminal investigation into the conduct of Hillary Clinton and her Foundation. Not to mention, re-examining Comey's decision to absolve her under espionage charges in the e-mail scandal.
HANNITY: All right. Thank you both. Great work. Now this is beginning to blow wide open. I told you there's a lot - there is a lot more coming. All right. When we come back, we told you the scary proposals in the Green New Deal, everything's free.
Well, directly ahead we're going to set the record straight, Joe Bastardi, Christopher Horner. And we have a Hollywood, "Villain of the Day" - famous Hollywood star. You won't believe. You can't even make this up, it's so insane. Straight ahead.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HANNITY: All right. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats unveiling their radical extreme Green New Deal today to address, what she calls "Catastrophic Climate Change", the world's going to end in 12 years. "Scary-O", I'm calling her.
Anyway, here to get the latest on whether this is the right decision based on the right science, is the Competitive Enterprise Institute Senior Fellow Christopher Horner; weatherbell.com, Chief Meteorologist, our friend, Joe Bastardi.
OK. Chris, let's start with you. You've written a number of books on the subject. If we're going to offer - we're going to demand every business and house in the country be rebuilt. If we're going to offer free college, free housing, free healthcare, free retirement, free, free, - everything's free.
And the reasoning is we're going to - the Earth's going to end in 12 years, so I'll do this in 10 years with only two years to benefit from it. That's going to cost trillions and trillions and destroy capitalism, the energy, healthcare industries and so many others. Good idea?
CHRISTOPHER HORNER, COMPETITIVE ENTERPRISE INSTITUTE SENIOR FELLOW: Right, because it's worked not in those places President Obama used to tell us to look to, to see how it would work out, when he tried baby steps toward this "Wrenching transformation of society", as Al Gore called it. We used to be the only ones not doing it, now we're told, "Well, we'll be the first".
You'll see this this plan opens with the alarmist liturgy, but then it did reels off page after page of what you noted this this progressive boilerplate about guaranteed income and so on for those unwilling to work. There's no mention of a climate impact. There's no mention of a change in temperature, which is the flag it sails in under. But there's no one who actually claims it would impact the climate.
This is about the fundamental transformation. You'll see in The Washington Post tomorrow a scathing editorial pointing out that you're trashing the enterprise of the climate industry here by going off on your massive project. Meanwhile, they claim it would cure these social ills. It would exacerbate badly all of them through energy poverty.
HANNITY: The 1970s--
HORNER: --killing jobs, energy, poverty and so on.
HANNITY: Joe, the 70s was, the nice new Ice Age is coming. Then global warming with the Earth has the temperature and it's going to explode in a number of years that passed already. Now we just say climate change, but it's really predicated on what, a battle against capitalism? The premise that that man on Earth is pillaging the planet for profit?
JOE BASTARDI, WEATHERBELL.COM CHIEF METEOROLOGIST: Well, first of all, H.L. Mencken who was a Democrat said it correctly. "The urge to save humanity is almost always a false face for the urge to rule it", and I think that's what you're seeing here today.
What gets me is, and I wrote a book on, as you know Sean. You're dragging the majesty of the creation - weather, climate, all these things I've loved since I was a kid, being dragged through the mud. It's the weaponization of weather, the weaponization of climate. The idea that the average person doesn't know what happened in the 70s or the 30s or the 40s or the 50s - like - people like me, what they do is they simply take advantage of it.
And I almost have to laugh at it now because you would have to sell your soul to that world to understand that world, and that's exactly what's going on here. It's really not that much. Look, I understand the CO2 feedback argument. But the oceans have 99.9 percent of the heat capacity of the entire system. If the ocean cyclically warm, the air cyclically warms. When the oceans cool, the air will cool.
HANNITY: The last thing I got to say this, Joe--
BASTARDI: That's a pretty simple relationship.
HANNITY: You know every storm, you've studied weather and Chris you have studied this. People need to pay attention a little bit to what you're saying. Thank you both.
All right you're not going to believe tonight's "Villain of the Day", you're hint famous Hollywood liberal, it's insane. Straight ahead.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HANNITY: All right. Tonight's "Villain of the Day", Hollywood liberal. After President Trump called out the Left's radical late-term, even up to birth abortion policies in the State of the Union, Bette Midler tweeted, I quote, "Buy stock in coat hangers! Here we go, 60 years, back to the back alleys!"
Disgusting, inaccurate, untrue. All right. Before we go tonight, some extremely sad news to share with you, our longtime friend, our colleague Bob Massi, attorney, expert real estate passed away after a pretty long battle with cancer, 67 years old. We send our prayers, our thoughts to him and his family.
Very generous man. Every time I hit a golf ball, I used a driver, he sent me. He was just that type of guy and he will be missed. We are praying for his family tonight. Also we did learn tonight that Former Michigan Congressman Democrat, John Dingell, that he died at the age of 92. Democrat was the longest serving member of Congress in the history of this country, 1955 through January 2015. We send our thoughts and prayers to his family.
All right. The show will never be the hate-Trump media. Let not your heart be troubled. Laura Ingraham is standing by in the swamp. I'm not there tonight.
