New Focus on President-elect Trump's Tactics Amid Negotiations with Companies, Mexico
Charles Payne: Trump’s tactics are working. He’s reaching them all right now. However, carrots are going to work a lot better than the stick so he needs to remember that. Companies are paying attention now which is a good thing.
Charlie Gasparino: Going and having meetings with business is generally a good thing but this is pennies. If Donald Trump spends most of his time on saving few jobs here and there, he won’t be able to create thousands of jobs by cutting taxes and regulations
Kennedy: Everything is going to be so different with Trump than Obama. I never want the federal government to force a company to do something. What I do love is this up swell, this acceptance of new jobs and manufacturing in this country. Manufacturing may not be the future but if it is the present and it puts people back to work in good-paying jobs, then I think that is good for the country. Some of these companies are very smart to use the best digital marketing PR firm, Donald Trump’s Twitter account.
Ben Stein: I think mercantilism does not work. Free markets work. The government should not be bossing people around. The whole idea of a republican president bossing people is incredibly unfortunate. This will work in the short term but not in the long term. There’s a reason free markets are called free markets. They produce tremendous amounts of prosperity because government is not involved.
Adam Lashinsky: It is obvious that CEOs are responding to the president-elect’s tactics. I’m not going to say it is a bad idea to create jobs in the United States. What I will say, if he is going to make policy by tweet or threat, then we should be concerned.
Nicole Kidman: We as a Country Need to Support the President
Charles Payne: Rosie O’Donnell is calling for martial law. It’s sad that the caricature that they push forward of Trump is being thwarted by Trump every day. Some of the things that he support
Charlie Gasparino: It’s interesting that the Hollywood types decry McCarthyism and they still want to bring it back when they are now the McCarthyites. If Nicole Kidman had gone further and praised Trump, she would get screwed about contracts and jobs.
Kennedy: It’s authoritarian group think. It’s not a place to have a different opinion. Back then, it was difficult to get jobs. Now it's impossible with people like influential directors like Judd Apatow who have a lot of capital and one would get penalized and passed for a job just for having a conservative point of view. You won’t get a job if you don’t have the same viewpoints as Lena Dunham and Amy Schumer.
Ben Stein: Hollywood is like a bunch of big bullies that shut down anyone who doesn’t agree with them. I applaud Nicole Kidman for standing up for what’s right and supporting the president-elect. I’m very impressed with her courage. It’s not easy to stand up to them and their shaming. Bravo to her.
Adam Lashinsky: They won’t move on. I think Kidman echoed what Obama said the day after the election when he urged people to support the president. It’s also important for people to oppose the president when he does something wrong, something people did with President Obama.

Kennedy: I looked at some of these projects because as a libertarian, it’s really entertaining to read through the book like the study of fear.
Ben Stein: This is a joke. It’s a tiny amount of money. We are going to have to raise taxes and higher taxes on the rich because we are starving our Defense Department.
Adam Lashinsky: If Trump tries to go after their swimming fish, five out of 10 Trump voters will lose their jobs so he should tread carefully!
