As we head into Game 2 of the 2012 Smartphone Madness competition, we want to take a second to congratulate Huawei Ascend D Quad for winning Game 1. Huawei defeated the Apple iPhone 4S by a margin of 17 percent, thanks to your votes.

Today's competition pits the Nokia Lumia 710 against the Samsung Galaxy Note. These two devices will duke it out for your votes from now until tomorrow, March 14th at 9 a.m. EST, and who will win is totally up to you, smartphone fans. But before you vote, lets look back at their records this season.

The Windows Phone 7.5-powered Nokia Lumia 710 for T-Mobile earned 4 stars during our review thanks to its affordable $49.99 price, snappy performance, intuitive interface and bright 3.7-inch display. We weren't trilled with the stiff front buttons and the lack of a front-facing camera, or with the grainy photos we took in low light, but the Lumia 710 does offer free GPS navigation. Overall, though, the Nokia Lumia 710 is a great choice for consumers looking to make the leap from feature phones to smartphones, and is favored to win this competition.

But don't count the Android-powered Samsung Galaxy Note out. On AT&T's 4G LTE network, this smartphone offers some unique and compelling features that could give it the edge it needs to win. The Galaxy Note not only offers blazingly-fast data speeds, it comes with a smart stylus that works with specific apps that help make this as much tablet as phone. You might call it the pajama jeans of the smartphone world. The Note offers a striking 720p display and sports a crisp (if slow) 8-megapixel camera. Unfortunately, the handwriting recognition wasn't spot on and we experienced some palm rejection issues, which only earned this phone 3 stars.

So which is better? That's up to you, as we settle in to watch these two competitors face off. Vote now or go home.
