ARLINGTON, Va. – Arlington police say a U.S. Capitol Police officer was arrested when a woman came home to find the stranger passed out drunk in her bed.
Police say 34-year-old Thomas McMahon was still sleeping when officers arrived at 1 a.m. Sunday. Spokeswoman Crystal Nosal says McMahon was charged with unlawful entry.
Police don't know why McMahon, who lives in Reston, picked the woman's apartment to sleep, but investigators believe he came in through the front door.
Capitol Police spokeswoman Kimberly Schneider says McMahon is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal charges. Schneider said the agency will also conduct an investigation.
