A Salt Lake City man allegedly stabbed a woman in the face after she refused to dance with him, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.

The unidentified man, 29, allegedly used a knife to slash the woman's face Saturday at his apartment near 700 North and 900 West. One of the woman's friends then tried to intervene, the Salt Lake Tribune reported, but the man hit her in the face and on the back of the head, knocking her down.

The man allegedly forced the stabbing victim and her friend out of his apartment. He was charged Tuesday with two counts of aggravated assault – a third-degree felony – and unlawful detention, a misdemeanor.
