Luxembourg, Luxembourg (SportsNetwork.com) - Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic and Germany's Annika Beck were semifinal winners Friday and will play for the title at the Luxembourg Open.
The fourth-seeded Zahlavova Strycova cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win over German Mona Barthel after Beck needed only 47 minutes to dispatch Czech qualifier Denisa Allertova in a 6-0, 6-1 romp.
It will be the second final of the year for Zahlavova Strycova, who lost to Ana Ivanovic at the Wimbledon tune-up in Birmingham. She is 1-3 lifetime in title matches, claiming her lone WTA title in 2011 at Quebec City.
Beck, meanwhile, will play in the Luxembourg final for the second straight year. She lost to former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki in her first-ever WTA title match at this event in 2013.
Zahlavova Strycova and Beck met just once previously, a three-set win for Beck in the first round of this tournament two years ago.
The 2014 Luxembourg titlist will collect $43,000.
