Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Yankees have acquired pitcher Chris Martin from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for cash considerations.

Martin made his big league debut last season and appeared in 16 games for the Rockies. He had no record with a 6.89 ERA in 15 2/3 innings.

The 28-year-old right-hander struck out 14 and walked only four. He has a 3.25 ERA with 230 strikeouts in 249 minor league innings.

New York also designated pitcher Gonzalez Germen for assignment. The Yankees had acquired Germen from the Mets for cash in December.
