Broussard, LA – Another event, another first-time winner on the Nationwide Tour.
Casey Wittenberg carded a six-under 65 on Sunday to close out an eight-shot victory at the Louisiana Open in style.
Wittenberg set the tournament scoring record at 24-under-par 260, four strokes better than the previous mark. He used a third-round 63 to grab the lead, and his bogey-free final round allowed him to coast to the title.
Fabian Gomez (65), Chris Riley (67) and Paul Claxton (68) finished in a distant second place at 16-under 268.
The 27-year-old Wittenberg became the third player to earn his first title on tour this season, following Edward Loar at the Panama Claro Championship and Paul Haley II at the Chile Classic.
