Williams and Pierre combine for 5 scores to help Dartmouth rout Cornell 44-28
ITHACA, N.Y. – Dalyn Williams and Dominick Pierre combine for five touchdowns to help Dartmouth rout Cornell 44-28 Saturday.
Pierre set the tone early for Dartmouth (5-3, 3-2 Ivy League), scoring the first two touchdowns of the game — runs of 1-yard and 9-yards — to put Dartmouth on top in the first quarter 14-0. Pierre finished with 154 yards on 26 carries.
After Williams' touchdown pass to Justin Foley for 2-yards gave Dartmouth a 21-0 advantage, Jeff Mathews answered for Cornell (4-4, 2-3) finding Grant Gellatly for the 19-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 21-7.
Williams answered with one second remaining in the first half, finding Michael Reilly for the 22-yard touchdown and a 28-7 lead at halftime.
On the Big Green's first possession of the third quarter, Williams ran it in from 35-yards out to give Dartmouth a 35-7.
Dartmouth's lead was never contested, improving its record against Cornell to 55-40-1.
