Who is ready for the Chase?

Of the drivers we have in the Chase for the Sprint Cup, not a single one of them jump out at me as absolutely ready and prepared.

None of them seem ready to go dominate this Chase. They all seem hit and miss. They are up and down. They are down and up.

I actually believe we are going to have to get a couple races deep into this Chase before we will even have an idea of who the true favorites will be. I honestly don't remember any other Chase being this way.

If I am Carl Edwards, I know I sure hope my pit crew was hitting on all eight cylinders like they were Saturday night at Richmond. Those last two stops Saturday night were phenomenal for the No. 99. They truly played a big role in Carl winning his second race of the year and giving the Roush Fenway organization some very positive momentum as we head to Chicago this weekend.

We're all going to learn a lot this weekend when we are back to a mile-and-a-half track. Half of the races in the Chase are at tracks of that length. I think it will be a real measuring stick of where you stack up versus the other teams.

To me, the picture is really, really foggy right now for all of the Chase teams. Having five of your 10 races at mile-and-a-half tracks dictates that we'll have a better idea of who the real players are after the checkered flag at Chicago.
