Chicago, IL – The Chicago White Sox placed right-handed reliever Jesse Crain on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique.
The 30-year-old Crain, who hasn't registered a decision while posting a 2.57 ERA over seven innings in six appearances this season, had successfully recovered from a strained right oblique during spring training.
His most recent oblique injury came during a routine workout.
Right-handed pitcher Dylan Axelrod was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte to take his place in the bullpen.
