White Sox place Bruney on DL

Bronx, NY – The Chicago White Sox placed reliever Brian Bruney on the 15-day disabled list Friday with left hip inflammation.

The right-hander made his season debut for Chicago last Sunday, earning the win after tossing a scoreless 10th inning against Milwaukee.

In a corresponding move, the White Sox purchased the contract of pitcher Brian Omogrosso from Triple-A Charlotte. The 28-year-old right-hander had a 4.09 ERA in 21 appearances with the Knights this year. He has yet to appear in a major league game.
