Chicago White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd will have surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and torn flexor muscle in his right elbow.

The team said Floyd will undergo the season-ending procedure on Tuesday in New York City. Expected recovery time for the 30-year-old right-hander is approximately 14-to-19 months.

Floyd compiled a record of 0-4 with a 5.18 earned run average over five starts and 24 1/3 innings this season. He left his last start on April 27 versus Tampa Bay after just 2 2/3 innings and was placed on the 15-day disabled list the next day.

Over his 10-year career with the White Sox and Phillies (2004-06), Floyd is 70-70 with a 4.48 ERA in 199 appearances and 187 starts.
