Promoted West Ham signed France midfielder Alou Diarra from Marseille on Friday on a three-year deal.

Diarra, 31, played three times for France in Euro 2012 to increase his caps to 44 since his debut in 2004. He has previous experience in the Premier League with Liverpool, and has also played at Bayern Munich, Lyon and Bordeaux.

"I am very happy to be here at West Ham. Everything is signed now, which is good, and I am excited to be here at this club and to be playing for them in the Premier League," Diarra said.

Diarra, who played in the 2006 World Cup final, made 34 Ligue 1 appearances at Marseille last season.
