Late on Tuesday night, 2016 safety Brandon Burton went on ESPN's Sportscenter and Bleacher Report to announce his commitment to UCLA. He chose the Bruins over the likes of Florida State, USC, and Arizona.

The safety out of Serra High School in Gardena, Calif. may have surprised some with his commitment. His high school has long been a feeding ground for rival USC to extract players from (Robert Woods and Marqise Lee are two examples). However, Burton consistently had UCLA atop the leader board for his services throughout the recruiting process.

An integral characteristic in Burton's game is his versatility. He can feature on both sides of the ball -- as a receiver and a defensive back. Burton's athleticism enables him to perform exceptionally well on special teams in the return game as well.

This was a big pickup up for the Bruins. Burton is one of the top players in the Southern California region, and will add some tremendous versatility to the Bruins' backfield.
