Malik Jefferson was the prized recruit of Charlie Strong's 2015 recruiting class and wasted no time in commanding a starting job.
In Saturday's home opener against Rice, the true freshman scooped in a loose football and took it 26 yards for his first career touchdown. The fumble was caused by another member of this year's recruiting haul, defensive back Kris Boyd.
