Sometimes, it's hard to let go.

The realization that Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota isn't going to be the quarterback for the University of Oregon this fall hit one young Ducks fan hard as he tried to finish his morning cereal.

Unfortunately, Mariota, who was selected second overall in the NFL draft last April, has a multi-million dollar contract to play for the Tennessee Titans and they seem inclined to keep him.

Mariota, though, did his best to cheer the boy up, recording a reply on Wednesday.

A classy gesture by Mariota and hopefully, whoever emerges as Oregon's new quarterback can win the young man over by the end of the season.
