Warriors players, coaches aren't concerned by two consecutive losses

After a historic, 73-win regular season, the Warriors are just one loss away from being on the wrong side of a different kind of history: Should they lose Game 7, they would become the first team ever to lose the NBA Finals after taking a 3-1 series lead.

That's right, these are anxious times by the Bay, but if you think the Warriors' players or coaches are nervous, think again. Instead, they are taking perspective heading into Game 7, and relishing the fact they are one of two teams that get to play for a title Sunday night.

Here is what Warriors' coach Steve Kerr said on Thursday night, when asked whether he was worried about his team's psyche heading into Game 7.

"Not at all," Kerr said. "I think if you start out every season and you say we get a Game 7, we get one game at home to win the NBA championship, I'll take it every time.

So I can't wait for Sunday. I think we'll be fine. Obviously, Cleveland has played well the last two games, and we've got to play better. But I'm confident we will. We're in a spot that 29 other teams would love to be in."

Kerr then continued, and explained why he is so confident.

"Our confidence comes from being the defending champions, from winning at an incredibly high rate the last two years," Kerr said. "And let's be frank, we were put in a pretty difficult position in Game 5 without one of our best players, and we didn't respond well enough. We needed to play better in Game 5.

But we'll have Draymond for Game 7. We'll have our home crowd. We'll have everybody but Boges (Andrew Bogut). We missed Boges tonight, but we still feel very confident that we can win without him.

Like I said, you get one home game to win the NBA title, that's not a bad deal."

When pressed on the same subject, the Warriors two star players, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson agreed.

Here is Steph on the Warriors' confidence headed into Game 7:

"We know what kind of team we are, what we're capable of, what we've accomplished so far, and how together we are," he said. "We haven't splintered at all. I think we're more mentally tough than letting two games not go our way kind of put any doubt in our heads.

So like coach said, if you started the season in October and said you'd be at home Game 7 with a chance to win the NBA Finals, you've got to love that kind of opportunity regardless of how it happened."

Thompson agreed, crediting Cleveland for its energy at home, while also exhibiting confidence with the series shifting back to Oracle Arena.

"They're great at home," Thompson said. "I mean, they outrebounded us. Made us uncomfortable in those first eight minutes, but just got to give them credit how they play at home and play with great energy. But we'll make the right corrections and we'll come back on Sunday even better. I know we will. I've got faith in everybody on this team.

So it's no time to panic. I mean, one game, winner takes all in Oakland. I like our position we're in."

Clearly the Warriors are confident, and we're guessing the Cavs are as well.

Game 7 can't get here fast enough.
