Golden State forward David Lee sustained a probable right hip flexor strain early in the fourth quarter of the Warriors' 97-95 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Saturday in Game 1 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Lee racked up 10 points and 14 rebounds over the first three-plus frames before he was fouled by Denver's JaVale McGee less than 30 seconds into the fourth quarter and landed hard on his right hip.

Lee remained in the game and split a pair of free throws, but after hitting the second, he clutched at his hip and had to be escorted to the bench before heading to the locker room. He did not return.

X-rays on the hip came back negative, but the Warriors announced that Lee would have an MRI Sunday to confirm the severity of the injury.

Game 2 of the best-of-seven series is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23 in Denver.
