Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer will be back on the practice field with the Cincinnati Bengals soon.

The Vikings announced Thursday that they will participate in joint practices with the Bengals on August 10 and 11, ahead of their preseason opener against Cincinnati on Friday, Aug. 12.

The joint practices will take place at Cincinnati's Paul Brown Stadium, and will be open to the public.

"Having such a great relationship with Marvin and the Bengals organization, it makes it a perfect fit for us to practice there," Zimmer said in a statement.

Zimmer rose to prominence as the Bengals' defensive coordinator before being hired by the Vikings as their head coach in 2014.

The Vikings recently signed offensive lineman Andre Smith, who spent seven seasons with the Bengals.
