The Minnesota Vikings signed veteran linebacker Desmond Bishop on Thursday.

A former sixth-round pick of Green Bay in 2007, Bishop spent his first six seasons with the Packers, starting 30 games between the 2010 and 2011 campaigns. He missed all of last year due to a hamstring injury.

Over the course of his career, the California product has registered 310 tackles, nine sacks and seven forced fumbles.

To make room for the move, the team released linebacker Stanford Keglar.
