Eden Prairie, MN – The Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz, who missed all of last season with a hip injury.
The signing was announced Monday, though Schwartz had tweeted last week that he was joining the Vikings.
The former seventh-round draft pick out of Oregon played 32 games for the Carolina Panthers from 2009-10, making 19 starts. He was on the offensive line that allowed DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart to become the first NFL teammates to both rush for more than 1,100 yards in a season in 2009.
