EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen has returned to practice with the team, after a sudden illness that kept him out of the previous game.

Griffen felt sick a couple of hours before the Vikings played against Kansas City, and he went to a hospital as a precaution after consulting with the team's medical staff. Griffen was scratched from the lineup, and rookie Danielle Hunter started in his place.

Griffen declined to divulge specifics about his condition, but he said Thursday the situation was ''scary.'' Griffen has three sacks in four games.

Griffen said there's ''no question'' he'll play Sunday at Detroit.
