Owings Mills, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Veteran offensive lineman A.Q. Shipley was among 13 players released by the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday as the team scrambled to reach the NFL's mandated 53-man roster limit.

Shipley started nine games for Baltimore a season ago but was deemed expendable largely due to the acquisition of new starting center Jeremy Zuttah.

Baltimore is also parting ways with cornerback Derek Cox, although that is believed to be a procedural move and the veteran is expected to re-sign with the team as soon as Sunday, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Players who will be moving on and were waived include offensive tackle Parker Graham, cornerbacks Tramain Jacobs and Sammy Seamster, offensive lineman Ryan Jensen, defensive tackles Jamie Meder and A.J. Pataiali'i, linebacker John Simon, tight end Phillip Supernaw, running back Fitzgerald Toussaint and quarterback Keith Wenning.

Meanwhile veteran CB Dominique Franks was released.

The Ravens also placed wide receiver Jimmy Butler on injured reserve with a shoulder problem, and put defensive tackle Terrence Cody on the PUP list as he continues to recover from a hip injury.
