D.C. United defender Andy Najar was suspended two additional matches by MLS on Friday, meaning the 2010 Rookie of the Year will miss both legs of the Eastern Conference finals.

Najar was sent off late in the first leg of the Eastern semifinals against Red Bull New York, and served an automatic one-game suspension in the second match Thursday night.

United defeated New York, 1-0, to win the series on aggregate, 2-1. Najar will now miss the next two playoff matches against the Houston Dynamo, but could be back for the MLS Cup on Dec. 1.

The MLS Players Union appealed the suspension for Najar, but MLS Commissioner Don Garber upheld the ban.

FC Dallas' Blas Perez was also suspended two matches for "violent conduct" in a match against Chivas USA and will be out for the first two fixtures of next year.

The New England Revolution's Fernando Cardenas was also fined by MLS for "his act of embellishment" in the regular-season final against the Montreal Impact.
