NYON, Switzerland – UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against CSKA Moscow for the "racist behavior of their fans" during a Champions League match against Manchester City.
City defender Yaya Toure says he was subjected to racist chanting during his team's 2-1 win in Moscow on Wednesday.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini had echoed the call for action over the chants, saying "it was a pity and I hope we have the right measures."
UEFA says the case will be dealt with by its control and disciplinary body on Oct. 30.
CSKA Moscow says it considers the racism allegations "unfounded."
