Fort Myers, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Twins shortstop Pedro Florimon is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery Monday to remove his appendix, a procedure that will likely sideline him for at least two weeks.

Florimon will miss the beginning of the Grapefruit League season while recovering from the surgery, but is fully expected to be ready for Opening Day.

The 27-year-old started 127 games at shortstop for the Twins last season, batting .221 with nine home runs, 44 RBI and 15 stolen bases.
