Twins sign Marquis to 1-year deal

The Minnesota Twins added more depth to year, $3 million contract.

Marquis made 23 combined starts with Washington and Arizona last season, going 8-6 with a 4.43 earned run average.

The Diamondbacks acquired the right-hander from the Nationals at the trade deadline, but he made just three starts for his new club before suffering a fractured right fibula against the New York Mets on August 14.

For his career, Marquis, 33, has compiled a 104-98 record with a 4.55 ERA in 326 games -- 267 starts -- with the Braves, Cardinals, Cubs, Rockies, Nationals and Diamondbacks.
