Twins send Slowey to Rockies

The Minnesota Twins have sent right-hander Kevin Slowey to the Colorado Rockies for a player to be named later following Thursday's Rule 5 Draft.

Slowey endured a difficult 2011 campaign, as he battled numerous injuries and ended the year 0-8 with a 6.67 ERA in 14 appearances (eight starts). He had been 13-6 with a 4.45 in 30 games (28 starts) the previous season.

The 27-year-old Slowey, who is still arbitration eligible, is 39-29 with a 4.66 ERA in 100 career contests (90 starts) for Minnesota.
