Twins option Mejia, place Haley on DL

The Minnesota Twins have optioned left-handed pitcher Adalberto Meja to Triple-A Rochester and haveplaced right-handed pitcher Justin Haley on the 10-day disabled list with right bicep tendinitis, the team announced Saturday.

Meja made three starts for the Twins, going 0-1, 5.79 ERA (9.1 IP, 6 ER) with eight walks and 10 strikeouts. Haley made five relief appearances, posting one save with a 4.15 ERA (13.0 IP, 6 ER) with three walks and 11 strikeouts in 2017.

Minnesota will make corresponding roster moves prior to Sundays game against Detroit at Target Field.
