Tottenham signed defender Kyle Walker to a new contract through the 2016-17 season Thursday.

The 21-year-old Walker has played in 35 of Spurs' 36 Premier League matches so far, and he was honored with the Professional Footballers' Association's Young Player of the Year Award last month.

Walker joined Tottenham from Sheffield United in 2009, but spent time on loan at QPR and Aston Villa last season. He emerged this season for Spurs, and has made 25 league starts. He has appeared in 47 of 51 games in all competitions.

He made his international debut last year for England, and should be a part of the Euro 2012 squad.
