Torino's Santana sidelined by leg injury

Turin, Italy – Torino winger Mario Santana is expected to miss the next month because of a leg injury, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

Santana lasted just nine minutes in Torino's 1-1 draw at Genoa on Sunday, and tests have determined that Santana has damaged the muscle in his left thigh.

The 30-year-old is on a season-long loan from Fiorentina and he has netted one goal in 14 Serie A matches this term.

Santana will now miss Torino's home contest against Chievo this weekend before the league begins a two-week winter break.
