Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Kings placed forward Tyler Toffoli on injured reserve Saturday as he continues to battle a case of mononucleosis.

The 22-year-old, who hasn't played since Jan. 8, was on the cusp of a career year before being struck down by illness, having recorded 12 goals and 15 assists in only 41 games.

The Kings also recalled goaltender J.F. Berube from their American Hockey League affiliate in Manchester as Martin Jones is not ready to return from an undisclosed ailment.

A 23-year-old native of Quebec, Berube has gone 19-4-3 with a 2.05 goals- against average and .920 save percentage in 27 appearances so far.
