Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams died Monday morning. He was 90 years old.

The Titans said Adams passed away peacefully from natural causes at his home in Houston.

Adams brought professional football to Houston in 1960 as one of the original owners and co-founders of the American Football League. The Oilers franchise won the first two AFL titles and spent 37 years in Houston before departing for Tennessee after the 1996 season.

Since relocating, the Titans have made six playoff appearances and won three division titles, reaching the Super Bowl after the 1999 season.

The news comes just a few days after the passing of one of the franchise's most beloved coaches, Bum Phillips. Phillips, who coached the Oilers from 1975-82 and guided the club to AFC Championship Game appearances after the 1978 and '79 seasons, was also 90 years old.
