Minneapolis, MN – The Minnesota Timberwolves waived NBA veteran and training camp invitee Bonzi Wells on Friday.
Wells was attempting a comeback after a three-year hiatus from NBA action. He last played in the league during the 2007-08 season, splitting the year between the Rockets and Hornets. After failing to latch on with a team as a free agent, Wells spent the 2008-09 campaign playing in China and the 2009-10 season in the Puerto Rican League.
A 10-year NBA veteran, Wells has career averages of 12.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 591 games with the Trail Blazers, Grizzlies, Kings, Rockets and Hornets.
