The Portland Timbers acquired forward Mike Fucito from the Montreal Impact on Friday for either a second-round SuperDraft pick or an international roster spot in 2013.

Montreal originally acquired the 26-year-old Fucito from Seattle Sounders FC in February. He was drafted by Seattle in 2009, and made 23 appearances, including 13 starts, for the Sounders.

Fucito also played in the 2010-11 and 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League events. He has five goals in eight career matches in CONCACAF Champions League play.

"Mike is a player who brings MLS and CONCACAF experience to the club," Portland coach John Spencer said.

"He provides us with another experienced, quality option up top."

Montreal's compensation will be determined by Fucito's performance this season.
