Tiger Woods Says He Has Yet To Receive An Apology From Sergio Garcia

Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia made a peacemaking gesture toward one another when they shook hands on the practice range of the U.S. Open Monday.

It was the first time the two had seen each other since Garcia jokingly said at an awards dinner in England that he would have Woods over for dinner during the U.S. Open and "we will serve fried chicken." Garcia apologized for the racially insensitive remark the next day at a news conference.

A fan at the U.S. Open took a picture of the handshake and posted it on Twitter.

During his press conference Tuesday, Woods mentioned the handshake but say the two had not yet had time to discuss anything.

"He came up and said hi and that was it,” Woods said.

“It’s already done. We’ve already gone through it all. It’s time for the U.S. Open and we’re going to tee it up in two days.”

While Garcia apologized publicly for the indiscretion, according to Woods he has yet to receive a personal apology.

“No, we haven’t had time for that,” Woods said.

Garcia's manager says the Spaniard tried Monday to arrange a private meeting, but their schedules clashed. Carlos Rodriguez says Garcia left Woods a note in his locker.

With Woods and Garcia on opposite sides of the draw, their handshake might be their only meeting this week.
