Saying that Thomas Davis didn't have his most productive statistical game against the Tennessee Titans would be a massive understatement.
As Jonathan Jones of The Charlotte Observer reports, for the first time since 2005, Davis was actually held without a single tackle. While Davis sounded off on the topic, specifically sighting what he called "a lot" of holding, his defensive coordinator didn't sound the slightest bit concerned.
"There was a lot of that (holding) going on. The refs were allowing us to play," Davis told The Charlotte Observer after the game. "I have to do a much better job of not getting frustrated when the calls don't go my way when I feel like it should. I'll do that. Understanding that I'm in a leadership role on this team, I can't allow myself to react like that when a call doesn't go my way."
As for McDermott's statement, he just spoke about it being the way things go sometimes.
"That was just the way the game flowed," defensive coordinator Sean McDermott said Monday. "Sometimes you get those situations in games and that's just kind of the way the game came out. You look a week before that, he had one of the top productions on the defense. And this week I'm sure he's determined to get back in that category again."
No reason to stress, Panthers fans, Davis will likely be back at it in Week 11. Expect him flying all over the field as we've seen so often in 2015 against the Washington Redskins.
