Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - PGA TOUR - FRYS.COM OPEN, CordeValle Golf Club, San Martin, California - The PGA Tour's 2013-14 season starts this week with the Frys.com Open.
This event is the first of the PGA Tour's new fall-to-late-summer schedule, which includes an early opportunity for players to earn FedExCup points.
The winner of this event will also earn an invitation to the Masters for the first time.
Jonas Blixt came from behind with a 3-under 68 during the final round last year to earn his first career victory on tour at 16-under-par 268.
Tim Petrovic had a chance to force a playoff with a birdie at the 18th hole, but 2-putted for par to fall a stroke short and finish in a tie for second place with Jason Kokrak.
Blixt will return to defend his title, while the field will also include three members of last week's international Presidents Cup team: Angel Cabrera, Hideki Matsuyama and Marc Leishman.
Matsuyama will be the highest ranked player in the field at No. 30.

The PGA Tour moves to Las Vegas next week for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, where Ryan Moore closed with a 5-under 66 on Sunday to win by one shot.
EUROPEAN TOUR
PORTUGAL MASTERS - Oceanico Victoria Golf Club, Vilamoura, Portugal - The European Tour heads to Portugal this week for the Portugal Masters.
Last year, Shane Lowry carded a 5-under 66 on Sunday to win by a single stroke over Ross Fisher. It was Lowry's first European Tour win.
Lowry returns to defend his title against a field that also includes the 2011 winner Tom Lewis and 2008 champion Alvaro Quiros.
This is the penultimate event before the Final Series, so those players outside the top 110 in the Race to Dubai will seek to have a good outing to secure their European Tour card for next season.
The top 60 in the rankings at the end of next week's event, the Perth International, qualify for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

Next week, the European Tour features the Perth International, which Bo Van Pelt won in 2012.
LPGA TOUR
SIME DARBY LPGA MALAYSIA - Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - The LPGA Tour continues its tour of Asia this week for the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia.
Inbee Park fired a 4-under 67 during her final round last year to secure her third career LPGA Tour win over 2011 champion and third-round leader Na Yeon Choi.
The world No. 1 Park, a six-time winner this season, will seek to successfully defend a title for the first time in her career.
The 72-player field will also include seven other players ranked in the top 10: No. 2 Suzann Pettersen, No. 3 Stacy Lewis, No. 4 So Yeon Ryu, No. 6 Na Yeon Choi, No. 7 Karrie Webb, No. 8 Shanshan Feng and No. 10 I.K. Kim.

The LPGA Tour is in South Korea next week for the LPGA KEB - HanaBank Championship, where Pettersen birdied the third playoff hole to defeat Catriona Matthew to collect her ninth LPGA Tour win last year.
CHAMPIONS TOUR
SAS CHAMPIONSHIP - Prestonwood Country Club, Cary, North Carolina - The Champions Tour returns from a week off this week for the SAS Championship in North Carolina.
Last year, Bernhard Langer fired a 9-under 63 on Sunday to come from behind and win by two strokes.
Langer, who has collected two wins this season and currently sits atop the money list, will return to defend his title against a field that also includes nine former SAS Championship winners, including current Charles Schwab Cup leader Kenny Perry (2011), Russ Cochran (2010), Tom Pernice, Jr. (2009), Mark Wiebe (2007), Tom Jenkins (2006), World Golf Hall of Famer Hale Irwin (2005), Craig Stadler (2004), and D.A. Weibring (2003).
Also in the field this week will be six-time major champion and World Golf Hall of Famer Nick Faldo, who is making his first Champions Tour start in America.
Faldo has appeared in two previous Senior British Open Championships.

The Champions Tour stays in North Carolina next week for the Greater Hickory Kia Classic at Rock Barn, where Fred Funk birdied the final hole Sunday to earn a 1-stroke win over Duffy Waldorf.
