Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland will miss at least four weeks with a strain of the subscapularis muscle in his left shoulder.

Holland left in the first inning of his first start of the season on Friday against Houston.

After the game, the extent of the injury was disclosed and it was revealed Holland will do no throwing for at least four weeks.

The 28-year-old lefty missed a large chunk of last season after tearing cartilage in his left knee that required surgery prior to the start of the season.

Shin-Soo Choo departed after the second inning Friday due to back spasms and Ryan Rua suffered a sprained ankle and left after the fifth inning.
