Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson exited Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit early in the second quarter.

Johnson walked off the field under his own power after Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith greeted the veteran receiver just as he got his hands on a third- down pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Both the ball and Johnson's helmet fell to the ground, and Smith was flagged for hitting a defenseless receiver to keep Houston's drive alive.

Johnson stayed motionless on the ground with his hands stiffly in the air for several moments before gaining his feet and exiting to the locker room for evaluation. The Texans ruled him out shortly thereafter.

Johnson, who also suffered a concussion last season, came into the game with a team-best 65 receptions for 720 yards and two touchdowns.
