The Houston Texans claimed offensive tackle Oday Aboushi off waivers on Thursday, the team announced.

Aboushi joins the Texans after being waived by the New York Jets earlier this week. The three-year veteran started 10 gamed at guard for the New York Jets last season. He was suspended Week 1 for a violation of the NFL's substance abuse police. Per NJ.com, Aboushi was cited for marijuana possession during a traffic stop in January.

The 6-foot-5, 308-pound Aboushi played for Texans offensive line coach Mike Devlin with the Jets last season.

Aboushi was selected in the fifth round of the 2013 draft out of the University of Virginia.
