Syracuse point guard Tyler Ennis is one of the rising young Canadian stars in college basketball.

In the final two minutes against Pittsburgh on Saturday, Ennis converted two layups — one with each hand through the middle of the Pitt defense — and swished two free throws to complete a 16-point performance. He helped the Orange rally for a 59-54 win to remain one of three unbeaten teams in Division I.

In his nonchalant way and with little fanfare, Ennis has emerged as one of the top freshmen in the country. Entering this week, he ranked fourth in the nation for his assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.13, with 99 assists and 24 turnovers. Only two other freshmen were in the top 50.
