Swansea, Wales (SportsNetwork.com) - Swansea City have completed the signing of striker Nelson Oliveira on loan for the remainder of the season, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
Oliveira, 23, will move to the Liberty Stadium from Portuguese side Benfica on January 1.
Capped 14 times for Portugal, the forward will bolster manager Garry Monk's attacking options with top striker Wilfried Bony set to depart to represent the Ivory Coast in the upcoming African Cup of Nations.
"I'm really looking forward to it," Oliveira told the club's official website. "I already know quite a bit about Swansea and it was their style of play and the ambience at the club that attracted me. It was an easy decision to make."
Oliveira has made just 24 appearances for Benfica since making his debut in October 2011, spending time on loan at Rio Ave, Pacos Ferreira, La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna and French side Rennes.
