Svitolina, Peer to meet in Baku Cup final

Baku, Azerbaijan – Ukrainian Elina Svitolina and Israel's Shahar Peer were Saturday's semifinal winners at the Baku Cup.

The seventh-seeded Svitolina handled fourth-seeded Alexandra Cadantu of Romania by a 6-1, 6-4 margin.

Svitolina, the 2010 French Open junior champion, will face Peer in Sunday's final after the Israeli cruised past Polish qualifier Magda Linette 6-1, 6-1.

Peer will try to claim her sixth career title. Svitolina won her first title last November in Pune, India.

This week's champion will receive a first prize of $40,000.
