As we count down to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, it's time to look back on the magical and memorable moments in the 49 previous Super Bowls. FOX Sports senior NFL writer Alex Marvez has ranked the 50 greatest moments in the big game's big history, and every weekday from now until Feb. 7 we'll unveil the latest addition to our countdown. Today, we look back at moment No. 27, when Devin Hester did something no one else has done.
The first Super Bowl played in the rain featured another piece of NFL history.
Chicago's Devin Hester delivered the first (and, to this point, only) return of an opening Super Bowl kickoff for a touchdown when zipping 92 yards through the Indianapolis Colts coverage unit.
The play was even more special for Hester considering he was raised in South Florida an hour away from what is now known as Sun Life Stadium.
The Colts successfully avoided putting the football in Hester's hands again by squibbing the rest of their kickoffs.
