Sunderland signs France midfielder Yann M'Vila on loan

SUNDERLAND, England (AP) Sunderland says it has signed France midfielder Yann M'Vila on a season-long loan deal from Russian side Rubin Kazan.

The 25-year-old M'Vila has 22 caps for France and is Sunderland's fifth signing of the preseason.

M'Vila says ''I'm excited for the start of the season'' and that he has ''wanted to play in the Premier League for a long time.''

M'Vila could make his Sunderland debut away to Leicester when the Premier League starts Saturday.
