Austin Sumner passed for a career-high 395 yards and three touchdowns and South Dakota State beat South Dakota 37-14 on Saturday.

Sumner was 16 of 28 without an interception. Jake Wieneke caught a career-high 18 passes for 177 yards

All of Sumner's touchdown passes — 28 yards to Jason Schneider, 18 yards to Wieneke and 50 yards to Zach Zenner — came in the first half when the Jackrabbits took a 31-0 lead.

Justin Syrovatka added three field goals as the Jackrabbits (5-3, 8-4 Missouri Valley) had all their points before the Coyotes got their only two touchdowns in the fourth quarter on Kevin Earl's 10-yard pass to Eric Shufford Jr. and Ryan Saeger's 10-yarder to Josh Hale.

South Dakota State broke the tie in the series, taking a 51-50-6 edge in the 107th meeting between the rivals.
