Summers wins by 3 in Australia
Toowoomba, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Summers fired a 7-under 63 on Sunday and that helped him rally to win the Coca-Cola QLD PGA Championship.
Summers finished the victory at 24-under-par 256 at City Golf Club. The victory was his first as a professional despite having turned pro in 1991.
The Australian birdied the fourth and sixth to move to 19-under. After three straight pars, he picked up two more birdies at 10 and 12.
Summers stumbled to a bogey at the 13th, but he bounced right back with a birdie on No. 14. He holed out for eagle at the 16th. Summers sealed the win with a birdie on the par-5 17th.
Third-round leader Ryan Fox closed with a 3-under 67 and ended alone in second at minus-21. David Bransdon fired an 8-under 62 to grab third at 19-under 261.
Stephen Dartnall (68) and Brad Kennedy (67) shared fourth at 18-under 262, while Aaron Townsend (65) and Ryan Lynch (67) tied for sixth at minus-16.
